Getting started with portfolytics

When you first open Portfolytics, you don’t need to set anything up to start getting insights. The app pulls in your Shopify store’s products and sales automatically.

It’s designed to give you quick wins from the very first visit.

What Portfolytics does

It helps you understand which of your product categories, collections or tags are actually performing – and which ones aren’t. You can see how many products are sitting idle with no sales, or which small groups are driving most of your revenue.

There’s no setup required. But if you want deeper insights, you can organize your products into a structure using tags or product types – we’ll cover that later.

How to get around

At the top, you’ll see the main menu:

  • Hierarchy
  • Collections
  • Tags

There are also filters in the top right. Use them to control what sales data is shown across all views.

See value in 10 seconds

Click on “Collections.” Right away you’ll see:

  • how many collections are online
  • how many have made sales
  • sales per collection

Click any collection and scroll down – the product table updates to show what’s been sold in that collection.

That’s it. No export. No filters. No spreadsheet work.

What’s Next?

If you’d like to group your products by category (like Men > Jackets or Women > Dresses), you can set up a product hierarchy in a few clicks using tags and product types.

You’ll unlock a lot more insight with just a couple of well-named tags.
